Event overview

Seafood Directions is a two-day biennial conference that brings together Australia’s seafood industry – primary producers, wholesalers, retailers, suppliers, fisheries management, scientists and government; opening the door to discussions, concepts and solutions for all levels of the supply chain. It showcases the best of the Australian seafood industry and provides a platform to connect and collaborate with business leaders and those at the forefront of the industry.

Hosted by rotating states, the 2019 conference will be hosted by Seafood Industry Victoria (SIV).

In 2019, SIV will open up the conference to attract a broader range of industries who work with Australian seafood – consumers, restaurateur’s, chefs, healthcare sector, agriculture, ocean protectors, aquaculture, alternative retailers, international purchasers and previously under-represented people, eg female fishers and indigenous people. The 2019 program offers a dynamic and future-focused program that includes a gala cocktail party of 1,500 attendees, Meet-The-Maker dinners at some of Melbourne’s best restaurants and eateries, interactive workshops, discussion panels, film screenings and more. The vision for the 2019 Seafood Directions conference is one of celebration, opportunity and connections. It is an ambitious and forward-thinking vision that aims to build a community that actively celebrates Australian seafood.
